FourFourSeconds ago on 4 February 2018, we wrote about the benefits of using the Dashboard.
This article will focus on the Dashflow dashboard, a free, open-source dashboard for your Amazon Dashlane account.
We will cover the basics, including how to use it and how to get started with the dashboard, so that you can focus on building your Amazon Alexa experience.
You can also use the dashboard to track your commute and get the latest weather updates, and to view data about your Amazon Echo.
If you’ve already got an Amazon Alexa account, you can sign up for the Dashlight service, which enables you to connect to Alexa using a Dashlane device, which acts as a microphone.
The Dashlight app lets you send alerts to your Dashlane devices using the voice command ‘Alexa, turn on the lights’ for a light switch.
If Dashlane doesn’t already have a Dashflow account, sign up using your Amazon account and click the sign up button.
You will need your Alexa credentials, as well as your email address.
This email address is your Dashlight account’s password.
Once you’ve added your Dashflow accounts, you’ll be able to start monitoring your dashboard by tapping the ‘Dashflow dashboard’ button on the top right of the dashboard.
You can add new dashboards or add existing ones, or manage your dashboard in a variety of ways.
To add a new dashboard, tap the ‘Add’ button in the DashFlow dashboard and enter your Amazon accounts email address and password.
You’ll be prompted to create a DashFlow account.
You may have to create your account first, but once you’ve done so, you’re good to go.
Once Dashflow has a Dashboard account, simply open the DashLight app, click the ‘dashboard’ button, and add your DashFlow accounts credentials.
You should now see your Dashline dashboard in the top bar of the Dashlights dashboard.
When you add a dashboard, it will appear in the dashboard pane.
Tap the ‘create dashboard’ icon in the upper right corner of the screen to create the dashboard you want.
If the dashboard is empty, you will need to create it again.
Once you have done this, the dashboard will automatically be added to the dashboard list, showing up next to your existing Dashflow dashboards.
Once your Dashlines dashboard is created, you may want to adjust the permissions of the dashboards data.
For example, if you are using Alexa, you might want to restrict Alexa’s access to your dashboard, but if you have a separate Dashflow device, you could set Alexa’s permissions to allow only Alexa to use Dashlines data.
You might also want to set a default password for Dashlines dashboards, so you can access them at any time.
If Alexa doesn’t yet support Dashflow, you should still add the Dashlines account, but for now, you won’t be able access Dashlines’ dashboards directly, but you will be able send alerts from Dashlines devices.
You must enable Dashflow before sending alerts from your Dashlets device.
To get started, open the dashlights dashboard, then tap the Dashflows icon in its top right corner.
In the Dashlets Dashlines Dashlines app, tap Dashlines, then select Dashflow.
Dashlines Dashline will automatically begin to track the data from your Alexa devices.
If you have other devices in your home, you have the option to send alerts using those devices.
If your Alexa device doesn’t have a dashboard yet, you must first sign up to add Dashlines accounts credentials, then configure Dashlines for the devices you use to receive alerts.
You need to enter your Dashlights credentials in order to add new Dashlines or add old Dashlines.
If there are Dashlines in your house, you need to activate them for each device.
Dashlines will automatically add Dashline devices that are in your Dashlist.
To activate Dashlines with Alexa, select Dashlines on your Alexa Dashlines device and choose ‘Dashlines’.
You’ll need to confirm that you want to add a Dashline device.
You are also required to select ‘Activate a Dashlist’.
Once Dashlines has started sending alerts, you just need to tap the notification icon in each dashline’s top bar to start the alert.
If an Alexa device isn’t connected to your home network, you cannot start Dashlines alerts with Alexa.
If Dashlines does not yet have Dashlines installed on the device, sign in to Dashlines and select Dashlights from the Alexa app menu.
You now need to select the Dashline you want the alerts to appear on.
The alerts will appear on Dashlines apps dashboard, along with other Dashlines information.
If a Dashlines alert does not appear on the dashlines app dashboard, or if your Dashelines device does not have Dashlets installed, then you’ll need a different dashboard
